This may differ per display, but in general this is the most common setup
The bottom bezel of the display has recessed areas marked with a line that magnetically hold a matching i3CONNECT stylus. The stylus has no battery and therefore does not need charging. The magnetic connection is simply for ease of finding the pen when starting use.
