When Zoom updates their apps, the updates need to be evaluated by our development team to see if the updates are compatible with our displays, which can take some time. Mostly these updates do not have a big impact as they are not mandatory updates. However, if the update is mandatory, the app might not work anymore until the update is installed and you may get an error informing you that you must update first. If this update is not yet available through the i3Store, then it is possible to update the app manually by following these steps:
-
In the error, you should find a link at the bottom to update and it should bring you to the Zoom website (using the browser on the display). You can also click on this link to download the correct update file: https://zoom.us/download?os=android
-
When done downloading, if you have an E-series display (e.g. EX, E-One), you may need to unlock the display to be able install it, as normally this is only permitted from the i3Store app. Please follow the instructions in this article to unlock the display: https://i3group.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/article/892600353. For the X-series displays (e.g. X-One, X2) this is not necessary; when installing the app, the display will automatically request your permission to install it.
-
When done, you can open the file manager app (the file explorer) and browse to the downloads folder. In there you should find the installer file you just downlaoded. Double-tap that file and follow the on screen instructions to update Zoom.
