Multiple devices, or people, share their screen to the display using AllSync

This guide is for anyone using AllSync to mirror content from several transmitters (laptops, dongles, or mobile devices) to an i3CONNECT display. AllSync allows for up to 6 devices to share their screen at any one time. Any newly added devices will bump the oldest connected device from the sharing displays, unless that setting is disabled in the settings of AllSync.

If you only need to share from a single device, check the basic screen sharing guide instead.

Before you start

Share multiple devices to AllSync

  1. Each person starts sharing their device to the i3CONNECT display using the AllSync app or the AllSync Transmitter Dongle, but does not press on the play-solid.png Play button just yet.

  1. From the extra casting features menu, choose the ‘ sidebar-regular.png Connect Devices’ icon on the left. You will be shown a visual list of all of the devices that are connected using AllSync. The images show what is currently visible on the device’s screen.

When the Connect Devices is open it looks like this
  1. Start screen sharing:

    1. From the receiver (display): Choose one device from the user list and tap on it to share.

    2. From the transmitter (device): press the play-solid.png Play button in the AllSync app or the large button on top of the AllSync Transmitter Dongle.

The play-solid.png Play button is grey? This is likely because the display is in Moderator Mode. If you do not wish the play button to be locked, disable Moderator Mode from the AllSync settings.

  1. Enable split screen for multiple transmitters. Select transmitters from the sidebar-regular.png Connected Devices icon on the display (receiver) or have more users press play-solid.png Play on their transmitters. AllSync will automatically switch to split screen when more than one transmitter is sharing.

Focus on one transmitter in split screen

Tap on the screen you want to focus on from the display, and then press the expand-wide-regular.png Maximize icon to make that transmitter full screen.

Return to split screen from single screen

If you’re focused on one screen, open the extra casting features menu by tapping on the square-chevron-down-regular.png arrow at the top of the display. Then open the sidebar-regular.png Connected Devices list and press on the compress-wide-regular-full.svg Minimize button to return to split screen mode.

Troubleshooting

  • If split screen doesn’t appear, check that multiple transmitters are actively sharing.

  • If you can’t switch focus or return to split screen, make sure you’re using the latest version of AllSync on all devices.
