Fix Miracast connection issues after Windows 24H2 update on AllSync

If you’ve updated to Windows 24H2 and Miracast wireless display is missing or not working with AllSync, this guide helps you restore the Wi-Fi Display feature. By the end, you’ll have Miracast working again for wireless display connections. If Miracast still doesn’t appear or connect after these steps, contact your IT support or i3CONNECT support.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have administrator rights on your Windows device.

  • Ensure your device and the display are connected to the internet.

Instructions

  1. Open Command Prompt as administrator,

    • Press Windows + R and type:

      cmd
      
    • and press OK.

  2. Check if Miracast is supported:

    • By typing:

      PowerShell
      netsh wlan show drivers
      
    • and then Look for the text

      Wireless Display Supported: Yes.
      
  3. If Miracast is not supported, add the Wi-Fi Display feature.

    • Enter in:

    •  dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0
      
    • Wait 10–15 minutes for the process to complete.

  4. Restart your computer.

  5. Remove all Microsoft Display Adapters.

    • Go to Bluetooth & devices > Devices > Wireless displays & docks.

    • Remove any Microsoft Display Adapter entries.

  6. Update your Wi-Fi driver: Visit your device manufacturer’s website and install the latest driver.

  7. Allow Miracast through your firewall:

    • Allow incoming connections for

      C:\Windows\System32\WUDFHost.exe.
      
    • Apply local firewall rules:

      • Press Start, type this, and press Enter:

        wf.msc
        
      • Click Windows Defender Firewall properties.

      • Go to Public Profile Settings.

      • Set Apply local firewall rules to “YES”.

  8. Test Miracast connection.

    • Press Windows + K and try connecting to your i3CONNECT display again.

Troubleshooting

If Miracast still doesn’t work:

  • Double-check that your device’s Wi-Fi drivers are up to date.

  • Ensure your Windows version is fully updated.

  • Try restarting both your device and the i3CONNECT display.

  • If you see error messages or the feature still won’t enable, contact your IT support or i3CONNECT support.
