Connection issues caused by extra network adapters

If a device has extra network adapters enabled, such as VPN, virtual Ethernet adapters, Bluetooth PAN, or other virtual adapters, AllSync or Miracast may use the wrong interface. This can cause the failed connections, unstable sessions, or poor discovery on the network.

Troubleshooting

  1. If you are using Ethernet: disable Wi-Fi, virtual Ethernet adapters, Bluetooth PAN, VPN adapters, and any other unused virtual network adapters.

  2. If you are using Wi-Fi: disconnect Ethernet, then disable virtual Ethernet adapters, Bluetooth PAN, VPN, and any other unused virtual network adapters.

  3. Reboot the Windows PC once after disabling the unnecessary adapters, then test AllSync again.

The goal is to leave only one active network path for the test: either Ethernet or Wi-Fi, depending on how the device should connect.

After disabling unused adapters and rebooting, the device should more reliably discover the AllSync receiver and connect using the correct network interface.

Still having issues?

  • Confirm that the PC and display are on the same network or expected sharing path.

  • Check whether a VPN reconnects automatically after a reboot.

  • If your device is Windows-based, verify that the network drivers are fully updated.

  • If the issue started after Windows 24H2, also review the dedicated Miracast or permissions troubleshooting guidance.
