Resolve access point (AP) isolation issues in AllSync

If your devices can't connect or share content using AllSync, your Wi-Fi network may have Access Point (AP) isolation enabled. AP isolation (sometimes called “Client Isolation” or “Guest Mode”) blocks devices on the same Wi-Fi from seeing each other. This is great for privacy, but not great for online collaboration.

If you’re on a public, hotel, or guest network, or don’t have access to your router or extender settings, these steps may not help as you’ll need network admin support.

Troubleshooting instructions

  1. Check your Wi-Fi router settings. Log in to your router’s admin page (see your router’s manual for details).

  2. Find the AP isolation setting. Look for options called “Access Point Isolation,” “Client Isolation,” or “Guest Mode.”

  3. Disable AP isolation. Turn off this setting to allow devices to communicate.

  4. Save and restart. Save your changes and restart your router.

  5. If using a Wi-Fi extender, repeat these steps in your extender’s settings.
