If your devices can't connect or share content using AllSync, your Wi-Fi network may have Access Point (AP) isolation enabled. AP isolation (sometimes called “Client Isolation” or “Guest Mode”) blocks devices on the same Wi-Fi from seeing each other. This is great for privacy, but not great for online collaboration.
If you’re on a public, hotel, or guest network, or don’t have access to your router or extender settings, these steps may not help as you’ll need network admin support.
Troubleshooting instructions
-
Check your Wi-Fi router settings. Log in to your router’s admin page (see your router’s manual for details).
-
Find the AP isolation setting. Look for options called “Access Point Isolation,” “Client Isolation,” or “Guest Mode.”
-
Disable AP isolation. Turn off this setting to allow devices to communicate.
-
Save and restart. Save your changes and restart your router.
-
If using a Wi-Fi extender, repeat these steps in your extender’s settings.
