Fix permissions issues due to Windows 24H2 update - AllSync

After installing Windows Update 24H2 (build 26100.2033), you may see system permission errors when launching AllSync on your device. This is a security behavior introduced by Windows 24H2. Use this guide if AllSync fails to start or cannot access WiFi information after the update. If you are not using Windows 24H2 or do not see permission errors, this article is not for you.

By the end of these steps, AllSync should launch without permission errors and allow wireless sharing. If AllSync still does not work, contact your IT administrator or i3CONNECT support.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have administrator access to your Windows device.

  • Confirm you are running Windows 24H2 (build 26100.2033 or later).

Instructions

  1. Right-click the AllSync shortcut on your desktop or in the Start menu.

  2. Select “Run as administrator”. If prompted, enter your admin credentials.

  3. Test AllSync to confirm the permission issue is resolved.

    1. If it is fixed, continue to step 4.

    2. If it is not fixed, then you are not experiencing issues related to permissions and should contact i3CONNECT Support

  1. Open Windows Settings (press Windows key + I).

  2. Go to Privacy & security > Location.

  3. Scroll to “Let desktop apps access your location” and make sure it is enabled.

  4. Restart AllSync and check if wireless sharing works.

Troubleshooting

  • If AllSync still shows permission errors, double-check that you are running the latest versions of AllSync and Windows.

  • If you cannot grant admin rights or enable location access, contact your IT administrator.

  • For persistent issues, reach out to i3CONNECT support with details about your device and Windows version.
