Add a fingerprint login on Riva's COS home-screen (Android)

Instructions: Add a Fingerprint

  1. Open the Quick Menu by pressing the physical button at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Press on Settings, this will look like a cogwheel icon

  3. Navigate to Security and enter your PIN code (by default, 000000)

    1. In this video, the default PIN code is used. For security reasons it is highly recommended to change the default PIN code: How to change the PIN code?

  4. Then navigate to Manage Fingerprints and press on “+ Add fingerprint ->”.

    1. If you do not see this, your Fingerprint module may not yet be connected to the correct port at the bottom of the screen. Consult the manual for the fingerprint module.

    2. If it is connected but not showing, please contact our support department at support.i3-connect.com

  5. Follow the instructions on screen. Put your finger on the fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen. The sensor should look like a black, shiny surface. You will have to repeat this process several times with slight variations.

  6. When the fingerprint is ready, press on Save and tap on the white input field to give it a name. We recommend using the person’s name or a unique identifier id they use in the space.

    1. You can rename the fingerprint by pressing on the Pencil icon in the overview

    2. You can remove the fingerprint by pressing on the Trashcan icon in the overview. After removing all fingerprints, the security pop-up will default back to the PIN code pop-up.

  7. Close the settings window by pressing on the cross in the top right corner of the yellow window.

Instructions: Login with Fingerprint

This will likely be used when trying to access the Security settings of the display.

Quick Menu > Settings > Security

  1. When a yellow login window pop’s up with an image of a fingerprint, you may scan your fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor found at the bottom of the screen.

    1. If you would like to use PIN code instead, you can press on the small white button in the top right of that window to switch between PIN and Fingerprint.

    2. If you see the fingerprint turn red, then the scanning of the fingerprint failed or the fingerprint was not recognized.

  2. If the pop-up disappears on it’s own, then that means you successfully logged in!
