Display powers on / off automatically or repeatedly restarts

This article helps when your interactive display powers on automatically after being turned off, or if it restarts repeatedly. Use this guide if you notice unexpected power behavior with your display.

If your display does not power on at all, or if the issue only occurs with a specific device or software, refer to the relevant troubleshooting articles for those scenarios.

Troubleshooting Steps: Disable CEC

A connected device might be sending a CEC command that triggers the display to power back on. By following these steps, your display should remain off when powered down and should not restart unexpectedly.

Before You Start: Ensure you have access to the display’s settings menu.

  1. Update the firmware: Ensure the display is running the latest firmware.

  2. Disconnect all HDMI devices from the display and check if the issue persists.

  3. If it resolves, disable CEC in the display's settings (Side menu → double cogwheel settings → General → HDMI settings → HDMI CEC).

  4. Reconnect all HDMI devices and see if the issue is resolved.

  5. Check Power Settings: Disable timeout functions if possible. Adjust power settings in Cortex or Android settings to allow multiple power schedules.

Still not working?

If the display continues to power on or restart after following these steps, the issue may be hardware-related and you should contact support for further assistance.
