Which server addresses / ports should be whitelisted (firewall settings)

To ensure your i3CONNECT products can activate licenses, receive updates, and connect to cloud services, your network firewall may need to allow access to specific server addresses and ports. This article is for IT administrators or network managers setting up or troubleshooting i3CONNECT interactive displays and related software.

If your organization does not restrict outbound internet access, you may not need to make any changes. If you are troubleshooting issues unrelated to network connectivity, refer to the relevant troubleshooting articles instead.

Before You Start

  • Check if your firewall or proxy restricts outbound connections.

  • Confirm you have administrator access to your network settings.

Instructions

The preferred method for whitelisting all the i3-connect.com servers is to whitelist:

  • *i3-technologies.com

  • *i3-technologies.services

  • *i3-connect.com

  • *i3-connect.services.

This is the easiest and most futureproof solution. You don’t have to do anything if we ever do a minor change to a server address.

Test connectivity by accessing one of the URLs in a browser.

Test connectivity

Test connectivity by accessing one of the URLs in a browser.

The i3Allsync license server has no web interface, so when testing with a browser you will probably only get a security certificate error, but this is normal and is actually confirmation that the address was not blocked.

Troubleshooting

  • If your i3CONNECT device still cannot activate, update, or connect after whitelisting, double-check for typos or missing entries.

  • If you see certificate errors when testing the i3Allsync license server, this is expected and means the address is reachable.

  • If you need help, contact i3CONNECT support with details of your network setup and any error messages.
