The i3WHITEBOARD app allows you to share your creative sessions directly via email. This article is not intended for personal email browsing; it is specifically for configuring the outgoing mail server (SMTP) so the display can send whiteboard exports.
Before you start
-
Ensure your i3CONNECT display is connected to the internet.
-
Have your organization's SMTP server details ready (Server address, Port, and Security type).
-
If using a service like Gmail or Outlook, you may need to generate an App Password or enable "Less Secure Apps" depending on your IT policy.
Instructions
-
Open the Settings app from the i3CONNECT Studio side menu or home screen.
-
Navigate to General Settings and select Whiteboard preferences.
-
Scroll down to find the Set SMTP settings option.
-
Enter your mail server details:
-
SMTP Server: The address of your mail provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com).
-
Port: Usually 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS).
-
Sender Email: The email address the display will use to send the notes.
-
Password: The password for the sender email account.
-
-
Tap Test Connection to ensure the settings are correct.
-
Save your settings to enable the email export option within i3WHITEBOARD.
Troubleshooting
-
Email not sending: Double-check that the Port and Security type (SSL/TLS) match your provider's requirements.
-
Authentication failed: If you use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), ensure you are using a generated App Password rather than your standard account password.
-
Firewall issues: Ensure your network allows outgoing traffic on the SMTP ports you have configured.
-
Alternative sharing: If email setup is restricted by your IT department, you can still share boards using the QR code or by saving directly to Google Drive or OneDrive
