The easiest way to move your work from an old interactive display to a new one is by using cloud storage. By saving your documents, images, and whiteboard sessions to a folder on Google Drive or OneDrive, you can access them instantly on your new i3CONNECT display through the integrated Studio interface.
Before you start
-
Ensure you have an active Google or Microsoft account.
-
Verify that your current display is connected to the internet.
-
Create a dedicated folder in your cloud storage (e.g., "Touch Display Backup") to keep your files organized. Add folders inside this folder as needed.
Instructions
-
Save files from your current display.
-
Open the files or whiteboard sessions you wish to keep.
-
Use the Export or Save As function to upload them to your Google Drive or OneDrive.
-
If your current display does not support direct cloud saving, save the files to a USB drive first, then upload them to your cloud account via a computer.
-
-
Export non-i3 whiteboard files as PDFs: To keep these notes, export them as a PDF or Image (PNG/JPG) before saving them to your cloud folder.
Whiteboard files created on non-i3CONNECT displays (such as older legacy boards or other brands) use different file formats and cannot be opened directly in i3CONNECT Whiteboard.
-
Connect your new display to the cloud.
-
On your new i3CONNECT display, open the Files app or the Whiteboard app.
-
Select Add cloud storage from the menu.
-
Choose Google Drive or OneDrive and follow the on-screen prompts to sign in (you may need to scan a QR code with your phone).
-
-
Access your data.
-
-
Once connected, your "Display Backup" folder will appear in the file explorer.
-
You can now open your PDFs, images, and compatible files directly on the screen.
-
Troubleshooting
-
Files not appearing: Ensure you are logged into the same account on both the display and your computer. Check your internet connection.
-
Cannot edit old whiteboard files: If you forgot to export a whiteboard as a PDF, you will not be able to open the raw file on the new display. You must return to the original device (or a compatible software) to export it as a universal format like PDF.
-
Connection errors: If the cloud login fails, ensure your IT department has not blocked third-party app permissions for Google Drive or OneDrive.
