If your i3TOUCH X3 display turns on by itself or restarts unexpectedly, this guide is for you. These symptoms often happen in meeting rooms or classrooms where devices are connected via HDMI or control systems. This article is for IT admins, AV integrators, or anyone managing i3TOUCH X3 displays. If your display is physically damaged or won’t power on at all, contact support instead.
By the end of these steps, your display should stop powering on or restarting automatically. If the issue continues, you’ll know what to try next or when to escalate.
If your display is completely unresponsive or shows error codes, this article is not for you—please see our hardware troubleshooting guides or contact support.
Before you start
-
Make sure you have access to the display’s remote and on-screen settings.
-
Disconnect any unnecessary external devices.
Instructions
-
Disconnect all HDMI and USB devices from the display.
This helps rule out external devices sending unwanted power or control signals. -
Power cycle the display.
Unplug the display from the wall, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. -
Disable CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) in the display settings.
-
Go to Settings > Inputs > HDMI-CEC.
-
Set CEC to “Off” for all HDMI ports.
-
-
Test the display for automatic power on/restart.
Leave the display powered off for at least 10 minutes. If it stays off, reconnect devices one at a time to identify if a specific device is causing the issue. -
Update the display firmware.
Outdated firmware can cause unexpected behavior. -
If the issue persists, perform a factory reset.
Troubleshooting
-
If the display still powers on or restarts automatically after all steps, the mainboard may be faulty. Contact i3CONNECT support for further diagnosis or repair.
-
If the display is in a managed environment (e.g., with control systems or automation), check for scheduled power commands or scripts.
-
If you see error codes or the display won’t power on at all, refer to hardware troubleshooting or contact support.
