This guide walks you through updating the firmware using only a USB stick and the panel’s power button. Use this article if your remote is lost, broken, or unavailable. Do not use these steps for routine updates if your remote is working—use the standard update process instead.
This guide is for IT admins, installers, or support staff who need to perform a manual firmware update. By the end, your i3TOUCH Ultra should be running the latest firmware version. If the update fails or the panel does not reboot, see the troubleshooting section below.
Before you start
-
You’ll need a USB 2.0 stick (minimum 4GB, formatted as FAT32).
-
Download the correct firmware file for your i3TOUCH Ultra model and version.

Instructions
-
Switch off the i3TOUCH Ultra.
-
Extract the firmware upgrade file to the root directory of the USB stick. You should see a folder named “upgrade_3588”.
-
Insert the USB stick into the USB 2.0 port on the mainboard of the i3TOUCH Ultra.
-
Power on the panel. Press and hold the POWER button until the power LED blinks red and blue.
-
Wait for the upgrade to complete. The TV will upgrade first, then reboot and upgrade the MCU automatically. The process takes about 4 minutes.
Do not interrupt the firmware upgrade process:
-
Do not touch the display (to avoid touch recalibration).
-
Do not disconnect power.
-
Do not remove the USB stick.
Troubleshooting
-
If the panel does not reboot or the LED does not blink, double-check that the USB stick is formatted correctly and the firmware folder is in the root directory.
-
If the update fails or the panel is unresponsive, contact i3CONNECT support for further assistance.
-
Do not attempt to power cycle or remove the USB stick during the update.
