Troubleshooting Miracast Connection Issues with AllSync

Situation

In rare cases, you may encounter difficulties using Miracast. This includes not finding the i3CONNECT interactive display in your laptop's search list or receiving warning messages such as "Couldn't connect." If issues occur, please always start by forgetting the device’s saved Wi‑Fi network and reconnecting. If the issue persists, follow the troubleshooting recommendations below, step by step, to identify and resolve the issue.

Instructions

  1. If your i3CONNECT interactive display is using a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, try switching to 2.4 GHz bandwidth instead. This is to avoid Wi-Fi direct bandwidth compatibility issues on the transmitter side. Remember to reboot i3CONNECT and the transmitter device after changing the settings to retry.

  2. Some Miracast issues can be observed after updating to Windows 11 24H2. There are three methods to regain control of your Miracast feature:

    1. Re-enable the Wi-Fi Display feature flag:

      1. Open the command prompt window.

        1. Press the Windows logo and R keys to open the Run dialog box.

        2. Enter cmdand then click OK.

      2. In the command prompt window, enter the following command: netsh wlan show drivers

      3. In the driver details, check if Wireless Display Supported displays Yes, which means your computer supports Miracast. If not, see the following steps.

      4. In the command prompt window, run the following command and wait (10~15 minutes) for the operation to complete: dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0

      5. After installation, restart your computer to apply the changes.

      6. Go to Bluetooth & Devices - Remove all Microsoft Display Adapters from Wireless Displays & Docks

      7. Test Miracast Connection: Press Windows + K to open the Wireless Display menu and try connecting again.

    2. Update the WiFi driver.

    3. Allow incoming connections for C:\Windows\System32\WUDFHost.exe in your firewall. And follow steps below to apply the local firewall settings:

      1. Select Start, type wf.msc, and press Enter.

      2. Click Windows Defender Firewall properties.

      3. Enter Public Profile Settings.

      4. Change the value to “YES“ for Apply local firewall rules.
