Miracast limitations and connection procedure for i3TOUCH X-ONE

Fix Miracast connection issues on a X-ONE

Miracast on the X-ONE platform has a few limits that can block discovery or cause unstable connections. Use this article if your transmitting (TX) device can’t find the X-ONE, can’t connect, or the connection keeps dropping. This article is not useful for issues caused by your TX device’s Miracast support or by a 5 GHz-only network setup. By the end, your X-ONE should be discoverable and connect reliably over Miracast. If it still does not work after these steps, reboot the X-ONE and contact support.

Miracast P2P on X-ONE supports 2.4 GHz only. 5 GHz P2P is not supported.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have access to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router / access point (AP).

  • Make sure you can access Wi-Fi settings and Hotspot settings on the X-ONE.

Instructions

  1. Turn off Hotspot on the X-ONE.

  2. Turn on Wi-Fi on the X-ONE.

  3. Connect the X-ONE to a 2.4 GHz router / AP.

  4. On the TX device, scan for Miracast devices again.

  5. Select the X-ONE and establish the Miracast connection.

  6. If the issue still occurs, reboot the X-ONE and test again.

Troubleshooting

Miracast discovery, connection, or stability issues

  • Cause: Miracast P2P is operating on an unavailable 5 GHz path.
Fix: Connect the X-ONE to a 2.4 GHz router / AP before trying Miracast again.

Miracast connection fails to establish

  • Cause: Hotspot and Miracast P2P can’t run at the same time on X-ONE.
Fix: Turn off Hotspot, then retry Miracast.

TX device still cannot discover or connect

If you have confirmed all of the following:

  • Hotspot is turned off

  • X-ONE is connected to a 2.4 GHz router / AP

  • The TX device still cannot discover or connect after scanning again
Then reboot the X-ONE and try again.

Confirm the X-ONE is connected to 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi

  1. Open Wi‑Fi settings on the X-ONE.

  2. Check the Wi‑Fi connection details.

  3. Confirm the current Wi‑Fi band is 2.4 GHz.
