If your i3TOUCH ES display isn’t responding to HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) commands, this article will help you get things working again. Use these steps if you’re trying to control your display or connected devices (like media players) via HDMI CEC and nothing happens. If you’re using a different i3CONNECT display, check the specific troubleshooting guide for your model.
By the end of these steps, HDMI CEC should be working on your i3TOUCH ES. If not, you’ll know what to try next or when to contact support.
Before you start
-
Make sure your device and HDMI cable both support HDMI CEC.
-
Confirm you’re using the correct HDMI port on your i3TOUCH ES.
Instructions
Only HDMI2 on i3TOUCH ES supports HDMI CEC. Using HDMI1 will not enable CEC features.
-
Switch your HDMI input to HDMI2. Only the HDMI2 port on i3TOUCH ES supports HDMI CEC. If you’re using HDMI1, CEC will not work.
-
Reconnect your HDMI cable. Unplug and replug the cable to ensure a good connection.
-
Restart both your display and the connected device. This can help reset the CEC handshake.
-
Check CEC settings on your connected device. Make sure HDMI CEC is enabled in its settings menu.
Troubleshooting
-
If HDMI CEC still doesn’t work after switching to HDMI2, try a different HDMI cable or another CEC-compatible device.
-
If you’re using HDMI1, CEC will never work—always use HDMI2 for CEC features.
-
For persistent issues, contact i3CONNECT support with your device details and a description of the problem.
