EDLA device does not sync with Google EDU account in i3CONNECT Studio
My EDLA device does not sync with my Google EDU account.
If your EDLA-certified display is not syncing with your Google for Education account, you may be unable to access Google Drive files or Classroom controls. This usually happens because a security verification method has not been established on the hardware level.
This article is for teachers and IT administrators using Google EDU accounts on i3CONNECT displays with the Google EDLA interface (such as the Elm 2 or Aspen 4). This article is not relevant for users with personal Gmail accounts, as these typically sync without additional security steps.
By the end of these instructions, your Google EDU account should be fully synced, and your files should be accessible. If the sync status remains stuck after following these steps, please contact our support team.
Instructions
Set up a security verification method (Android Google PIN code). As soon as the PIN was set, sync and access to files are working as expected with Google EDU accounts.
-
Open the Settings menu on your i3CONNECT display.
-
Navigate to the Security section.
-
Select the option to set up a security verification method.
-
Create a new Android Google PIN code.
-
Restart your display to ensure the security settings are applied.
-
Open your Google app (Drive or Classroom) and verify that the sync is now active.
Troubleshooting
-
Personal Accounts: If you are using a personal account and experiencing sync issues, check your internet connection first, as a PIN is usually not required for personal sync.
-
Admin Restrictions: In some cases, your school's Google Workspace administrator may have additional mobile device management (MDM) restrictions. If the PIN does not resolve the issue, consult your IT department to ensure "Third-party app access" is permitted for the device.
