Troubleshoot the lift not moving up or down for i3LYFT

Use this article if your i3LYFT elevator system is not moving up or down when you press the control buttons. This guide is for anyone responsible for operating or maintaining the i3LYFT. If your lift is physically damaged or making unusual noises, do not use this article, contact support.

Expected outcome: By following these steps, your i3LYFT should move up and down as expected. If not, you’ll know what information to collect for support.

Unexpected outcome: If the lift still does not move after all steps, or if you notice damage or error codes, contact support with the requested details.

Before you start

  • Make sure the lift is safely accessible and not carrying more than the maximum allowed weight.

  • Have access to the power supply and control box.

Instructions

  1. Check connections and weight

    1. Verify the lift is not overloaded.

    2. Ensure the remote is securely connected to the control box.

    3. Check that the mechanical parts are properly connected to the control box.

    4. Confirm the lift is plugged into a working power outlet.

  2. Reset if the lift goes down but not up

    1. Move the lift to its lowest position.

    2. Release the ‘down’ button.

    3. Press and hold the ‘down’ button for a few seconds (the lift may move slightly).

    4. Test if the lift can now move up.

  3. Reset if the lift does not respond at all

    1. Unplug the power cord.

    2. Hold the ‘up’ or ‘down’ button for a few seconds to discharge remaining power.

    3. Wait until the unit is completely powered off.

    4. Plug the power cord back in.

    5. Press and hold the ‘down’ button for a few seconds (the lift may move slightly).

    6. Test if the lift can now move up.

  4. Hard reset

    1. Move the lift to its lowest position.

    2. Press and hold both ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons for 5 seconds, then release.

    3. Press the ‘down’ button once.

    4. Test if the lift works again.

If the lift still does not move:

  • Collect the following for support:

    • A photo of the lift’s serial number.

    • A photo of the serial number from the defective part (CBD6 controller and/or columns).

    • An overview photo showing how the lift is installed.
