Installing i3ANNOTATE 2.0 on Windows as a system administrator

This article is for system administrators preparing to install i3ANNOTATE version 2.0.2.781 on Windows devices. Use these instructions when setting up i3ANNOTATE in environments where licensing, network access, and user permissions must be managed. This guide is not intended for end users or for installations on non-Windows operating systems.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure i3ANNOTATE and its license manager activate and run smoothly. If you encounter issues with activation or permissions, see the troubleshooting section below.

During registration, license information is stored in C:\ProgramData\i3LM. Proper permissions are required for successful activation.

Before you start

Instructions

  1. Download the i3ANNOTATE installer from the official site.

  2. Run the installer as an administrator. The package installs both i3ANNOTATE and the i3 License Manager.

  3. Ensure network access: Both i3ANNOTATE and i3 License Manager must have unrestricted access to https://license.i3-technologies.com for license activation.

  4. Check folder permissions: The user account used for registration and launching i3ANNOTATE must have read and write rights to C:\ProgramData\i3LM.

  5. Activate i3ANNOTATE using one of these methods:

    • Enter an i3LEARNHUB license key (valid for a fixed number of PCs/users; activations are limited to the purchased amount).

    • Use the serial number of any i3 interactive product (activates a single PC).

    • Log in with i3LEARNHUB credentials (multiple activations allowed, but not for simultaneous use).

Troubleshooting

  • If activation fails, check that the device has internet access and can reach https://license.i3-technologies.com.

  • If you receive permission errors, verify the user account has both read and write access to C:\ProgramData\i3LM.

  • For issues with license limits or simultaneous activations, review your license type and usage.
